Student Engagement and Wellbeing
Breakfast Program. Run every Wednesday morning, coordinated by the
Wellbeing Advisor and assisted by Support Staff and parents, the Breaky Club
promotes the notion of the importance of breakfast and also provides the opportunity
for social development and interaction in a different forum.

Behaviour Management Plans. Individual plans are developed to
support the improvement of some students’ behaviour so that the
rights of students and teachers are upheld as are the rights
of the specific student to be successful at school are upheld.
These plans are developed collaboratively between home and school
Junior School Council. Students apply to be Junior School
Councillors through an application and interview process. The
JSC meet fortnightly and coordinate activities that focus on helping
others outside the school as well as activities that benefit the
members of our school.
Gardening Club. Students are involved in the development
of the outdoor environment. There has been a particular focus on
the development of the new garden area at the back of the Library

Nazareth House Visits. Small groups of student
from the middle sections of the school visit
Nazareth House (an aged care facility) to read
to and interact with the residents. These
visits promote the notion of service and develop
important links with our community.

Queen Elizabeth Home Visits. All students visit
the Queen Elizabeth Home (also an aged care facility)on
a monthly basis and interact with the resident
with things such as reading, Scrabble and other board
games. Again the notion of service and community links
are the focus

Fresh Fruit Friday. Fruit platters are prepared by students
under the supervision of the Wellbeing Advisor or another
staff member and delivered to every class. FFF promotes
the notion of healthy eating choices.
Restorative Practices. As part of our professional
learning, restorative practices have become the focus
of our student management practices. Once an incident
has been dealt with, the notion of what needs to happen
to make the situation better is emphasised.
Empowering the Student Voice. Through the use
of Langford Tools, students have meaningful input
into a variety of school processes.
Kinder Links Program. Small groups of senior
students accompanied by the Wellbeing Advisor
visit the local kindergarten to be kinder assistants
enhancing the notion of service and community links.

Student-Led Assemblies. 3:15 on Friday afternoons
are our whole school assembly times which are run
by five students from a designated grade. Assemblies
are a celebration of the school week. Class reports
focussing on positive aspects of the week are presented.
Awards acknowledging positive student attitudes are presented.
Counselling – Individual and Small Group. Where the need
arises, individual counselling is provided to students after
discussion with parents and permission granted. Small group
counselling is also available
Start-Up Program. The Start-Up Program
occurs over the first three weeks of the
school year in which students explore,
document and set up the learning environment
and class agreements for the year.
Classroom Learning Plans. CLPs are the culmination
of the Start Up Program by which a shared document
about the practices and processes of each classroom are
published.
Values Program. Based on the Healthy Relationships, a value
is focussed on over a fortnightly period to enhance student
understanding of what values are, why they are important
and what they look like in practice.
Boys Group/ Girls Group. These groups focus on
discussion and activities to bring about improvement
in a particular attitude or behaviour. These groups
are also used to develop resilience and social cohesion.
