Grade 5/6 Visit to the Ballarat Cemetery

On Wednesday, all students in Grades 5 and 6 visited the New Ballarat Cemetery. The purpose of our visit was to place Australian flags by the graves of Australians who had fought/served in wars, battles and conflicts in days gone by.

The significance of this activity relates to ANZAC Day, given that there will be many people wandering through the cemetery to pay their respects to loved-ones and other people who have served their nation; having a flag by their grave makes it easier for them to be identified, whilst being acknowledged with the flag by their final place of rest.

The students of Grades 5 and 6 represented the school impeccably and showed the utmost respect during this undertaking.
