In August 2021, 11,563 Victorians voted online for their favourite fossil to be crowned the state's official fossil emblem. On Thursday 13 January 2022, the Victorian Government announced the ‘kool’ Cretaceous winner: 125-million-year-old extinct amphibian, Koolasuchus cleelandi. The students became palaeontologists and investigated bone, brain and fossil replicas. Much fun was had by everyone.
