At Macarthur Street Primary School we know that reading, writing, oral language and spelling are all integral parts of our literacy program. In 2018 we therefore have a clear focus on literacy learning especially the area of writing. We are following the VCOP writing program, strongly supported by the PM Writing resources. Underpinning our success with writing is a comprehensive spelling program that teaches each student at their point of need. Our literacy program is driven by evidence. We allow students to set goals and we see them achieving these goals on a regular basis. Additional support is provided for students not quite reaching these goals by a literacy specialist.
